Leo & Cheyenne: A Love Story
If you follow us on social media or have spent time at the sanctuary, you've definitely witnessed the beautiful love story of Leo and Cheyenne. These two are rarely seen more than a few feet apart, but that wasn't always the case! Cheyenne was just a baby when she arrived, battling fractured legs and sepsis, and she stayed in a smaller recovery area until she was strong (and big) enough to join the herd. Even then, she wouldn't go anywhere near the "cows," sticking strictly to the two goat friends she grew up with. But eventually, Leo—a retired ox—with his strong yet gentle nature, proved irresistible and won her heart. Cheyenne finally let her guard down (sound familiar, ladies?). Today, they are completely inseparable, proving that true love is always in the air here at Asha's!
Now in partnership with Float (For Love of All Things), we are bringing Leo and Cheyenne's love story alive to everyone you meet through a limited edition t-shirt/sweatshirt offering. For ONE WEEK ONLY, this compassionate apparel can be yours with purchase from Float, and $8 will be donated to our sanctuary.

The Sanctuary Table
A Prescription for Life: Choosing the Path of Healing
I recently received a message that reminded me why our mission at Asha's is so vital—not just for the animals, but for all of us. A wonderful and very generous supporter of our sanctuary shared that her husband recently visited a world-renowned cardiology group. Despite being active and fit, his doctor gave him a life-changing directive: Stop eating all meat. No chicken, no pork, no beef. None. Why? The doctor was clear: "I want to prevent you from having a cardiac event." It wasn't just about fat—it's about the harmful enzymes in animal products that contribute to the number one cause of death, along with hardening of the arteries and dementia. The weight of this advice hit even closer to home when she shared a painful family memory. Her sister's husband tragically passed away from prostate cancer, and his doctor at a top world-renowned cancer center was direct about the cause, stating it was due to the amount of meat he had eaten throughout his life. This is a powerful reminder: Choosing a vegan lifestyle not only saves the lives of innocent animals by ending the "horrible injustice" of their suffering—it heals ourselves. When we stop consuming animals, we promote optimal health and protect our futures, to spend the most time we can with our friends and families. She expressed to me that every gourmet vegan dinner served and every soul saved is a step toward a world where we all thrive, thanking us a million times for our life-saving work. God bless this beautiful woman's heart and for supporting Asha's Farm Sanctuary.
Community Impact
A Winter Miracle for Leo and the Herd!
We have the most heartwarming update to share. As the deep freeze set in, the community truly rose to the occasion to help keep the herd full and happy. I was deeply moved by those of you who began donating bales of hay, and because we had a 100% Match in place by a very generous donor, it created an incredible opportunity. A wonderful family stepped up with a staggering $10,000 gift, which was completely matched to ensure every single hay bale was paid in full for the winter season and beyond!
Because of this "Winter Miracle" and the collective power of our community, the winter hay fund is now completely secured. It is such a beautiful relief to know that our handsome Leo and the rest of the crew are guaranteed to stay full, healthy, and safe until the spring arrives. Seeing our supporters and these very special donors come together to protect our residents is a powerful reminder of the love that surrounds Asha's. From Leo, Cheyenne, and the whole herd—thank MOO!
From My Heart to Yours
I say it often, but I can never say it enough: I truly couldn't do this alone. Whether you are donating to the feed bill, sharing our stories with a friend, or simply keeping these animals in your heart, you are a vital part of Asha's community. Every bit of awareness and every kind word helps us keep the promise of safety I made to these 'babies.' Thank you for being in our corner—I can't wait to see you all out here once the weather breaks!
